South Carolina Boys Charged in Shooting

The victim was a 62-year-old man

Guns are easily accessible to people who should not have them.

You have to wonder what this world is coming to when two young boys shoot a man to death. The boys are eight and nine. It happened in South Carolina. Such crimes have happened before, and they are likely to happen again. It is a sad commentary on life in the United States.

Police received a call from a woman on June 23, 2021, that her husband was driving his tractor around his own property when he was shot. Deputies found the man slumped over the steering wheel of his tractor. He was unresponsive. It was determined through an autopsy that he had died from a single bullet in his back.

Driving a tractor on your own property should not be a dangerous activity where you have to worry about someone shooting you.

What will happen to the boys is not known. Family court has recommended that they be charged with involuntary manslaughter.

This is yet another unfortunate incident where a gun was used to kill some unsuspecting person who did not need to die.
