A lot of people are complaining about there being too many Medium-related articles. I’d guess most of you are aware of the saying, “See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil”. Well, Medium has added a fix that will at least allow you to see no “evil”.
If they’re rolling this out, maybe some of you still won’t have access to it but unless it’s a test, I assume it’ll be coming soon. The feature is rather simple. If you see a story in your recommended you don’t like, you can hit the three dots next to it, and right at the top is now an option that says, “show less of this”.
So, for those of you who don’t have the patience to wait until they stop showing up, because you stopped clicking on them, rejoice! For those who are stuck in purgatory because you can’t help but click on them, rejoice harder! You’ve been given a gift from Medium!
Now, when you see annoying stories like this, just hit that button! Before long, you’ll likely almost never see these stories! Sure, there are plenty of more pressing issues at hand they could be working on but I’ll be honest, I don’t hate having this option. I’ll not be blocking Medium-related stories myself but there are some topics I’m simply not interested in. Wouldn’t mind seeing a bit less of them.
Another blessing here, once people realize they can hit that button and they start seeing less of these types of stories, I can see less of the types of stories I find rather pointless. You know, the stories about Medium, complaining about stories about Medium? Yeah, it’ll be nice to see less of those, lol
